Sierra Medical Center, in south Reno at 6500 Longley Lane, is the newer addition to the Northern Nevada Health System. It has a Level III NICU (verified on northernnevadahealth.com) and a dedicated Family Birth Center with LDRP suites. Sierra consolidated the maternity services that were previously at the Sparks campus, so all L&D now happens here. The south Reno location is convenient for families in the Damonte Ranch, Galena, and south Truckee Meadows areas — about 10 minutes from I-580 and the South Meadows Parkway interchange. Does Medicaid or Insurance Cover a Doula or Midwife in NV?
No — Nevada Medicaid does NOT cover doula services as of 2026. HSA and FSA funds can be used for doula fees, and some doulas in the Reno area offer sliding-scale pricing.
