How do I choose between the PDF and the app?
Both are free! The app is best if you want step-by-step guidance, the ability to update your plan anytime, and share it with your care team. The PDF is best if you want a printable one-pager your nurse can read in two minutes. Many families use both — build in the app, print the PDF for the hospital bag.
Does doula support actually make a difference?
Yes. Research from the Cochrane Review (Hodnett et al., 2012) — a systematic review of 22 trials involving over 15,000 women — found that continuous doula support was associated with shorter labors, fewer requests for epidural pain relief, and higher rates of spontaneous vaginal birth compared to usual care.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) also recognizes doula support as a safe, effective way to improve birth satisfaction and reduce unnecessary interventions.
