First Trimester · Week 10
10 Weeks Pregnant: As small as a strawberry
Baby development
Your baby at 10 weeks
Your baby's tiny fingers and toes are more defined now, and the limbs keep lengthening. A fun thing to picture is that little joints are developing too, so your baby is becoming more bendy and coordinated even this early.
Your body this week
What you might be feeling at 10 weeks
You may be offered NIPT (non-invasive prenatal testing) around this time. Nausea might persist or start to ease. You might notice a tiny bump starting, round ligament pain, and slightly more energy. The wait for NIPT results can be anxiety-inducing.
From Shelbi

If you're doing NIPT testing, this is often the week — and then begins what I call the longest week of your life, waiting for results. I've sat with so many doula clients through this wait. The anxiety is real, and it's universal. Here's what I tell every mom: most results come back fine. The waiting is the worst part, and it's okay to admit that you're scared. Don't Google. Call a friend, watch a terrible show, do anything besides refresh your patient portal every hour. The results will come, and the odds are very much in your favor.

Common questions
10 weeks pregnant: your questions answered
What is NIPT and should I get it? +
NIPT (non-invasive prenatal testing) is a blood test that screens for chromosomal conditions like Down syndrome. It can be done from 10 weeks. Most results are normal. The waiting period for results (7-10 days) can be anxiety-inducing.
Is it normal to still feel awful at 10 weeks? +
Yes. Many women don't feel better until 12-14 weeks. Some have symptoms throughout pregnancy. Everyone's timeline is different.
