Twelve weeks. This is the milestone you've been counting toward. The miscarriage risk drops significantly here, and for the first time, you might be able to let yourself feel something close to excitement. I remember my 12-week scan with my first — seeing that little person wriggling on the screen, watching the heartbeat flicker, and finally letting myself believe this was really happening. I cried.
