Third Trimester · Week 30
30 Weeks Pregnant: Running out of room
Baby development
Your baby at 30 weeks
Your baby is continuing to gain fat, which helps smooth the skin and support temperature regulation after birth. There is less room than before, so movements may feel bigger even if they are less acrobatic.

What you might be feeling at 30 weeks
The ten-week countdown. Nesting instinct may kick in hard. You might be organizing everything and still feeling unprepared. Heartburn, back pain, and trouble sleeping are common. A good time to start your birth plan if you haven't already.
From Shelbi
Shelbi Kohler · mother of seven · certified birth doula
Thirty weeks. You're in the double digits now — roughly ten weeks to go, give or take. With my seventh, this was the week I started nesting hard. I organized every closet in the house, bought everything we needed, and still felt like I wasn't ready. You might be feeling the same way. This is a good time to start your birth plan if you haven't already — not because it's urgent, but because thinking through your preferences now means you won't be making decisions under pressure later. If you're working, this is also when maternity leave planning becomes real. The end is closer than it feels.
